IID2008 Aoi Festival

On May 15, the Aoi Festival will be held in Kyoto. It is one of the three major and oldest festivals in Kyoto. Don’t miss a chance to see it during the congress period. There are only 100 tickets available!

Date: Thursday, May 15
Schedule: 9:00 – 10:00: You should be seated
10:30 – Procession starts
(40-50 minutes)
Cost: Free
General transportation: 5-10 minutes’ walk from the North Exit of Marutamachi Subway Station.
Attention:
  • If it rains on the 15th, the festival will be postponed to the 16th. In case of rain on both days, the festival will be cancelled.
  • Applications will only be accepted by fax (+81-3-3423-4108). E-mail applications will NOT be accepted.
  • Tickets are available to the first one hundred applicants on a first come, first served basis.
  • Successful applicants will be contacted.

IID2008 One-Day Kyoto Bus Tour

Kyoto is a historical and beautiful city, where many aspects of characteristic Japanese culture continue to thrive. Here is your opportunity to stroll about through this historical city with a guide.

Date: Friday, May 16
Schedule: 9:00 – ICCK
9:30 – 10:20: Kinkaku-ji
10:40 – 11:30: Heian Jingu Shrine
12:00 –13:20: Garden Oriental (lunch)
13:30 – 14:10: Sanjusangendo
14:20 – 15:30: Kiyomizu-dera
– 16:10: ICCK
Cost: 5,000 yen
Attention:
  • There are only 80 seats available.
  • Payment will be accepted only at the travel desk’s JTB counter at the meeting venue in Kyoto.
